Technology proponents see progress in closing ‘homework gap’

By Emily Ann Brown, Education Daily® As part of series of events to promote the Future Ready initiative, proponents highlighted local efforts that address digital equity at school with support from the modernization of the E-Rate program. They also addressed efforts to promote digital equity outside-of-school, particularly when it comes to at-home access for students from low-income families.

“As we move to integrating more digital content into our school days, we, like other districts, have a strong desire to further extend the school day beyond our student’s time within the four walls of the school,” said Diane Doersch, chief technology and information officer of Green Bay (Wis.)
