At New Mexico School for the Arts, they tried a variety of approaches for using data to improve student achievement, and they didn’t get it right at first. This is what they learned:

What Didn’t Work For Them

They gathered as a faculty to pore over data from state reading and math tests. They printed out student-by-student reports from a commercial short-cycle assessment and dissected them trying to find information that they could use to inform instruction.
